In Memory of James Franklin Anderson
November 22, 1946 - April 5, 2018
James F. “Howdy” “Andy” Anderson, III, 71, of Spooner, passed peacefully away from a sudden illness at his home, surrounded by his family and friends, on Thursday, April 5, 2018.
James was born on November 22, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA, to James and Eileen (Bulman) Anderson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1964. He served his country in US Air Force from 1965 until 1969 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He worked for Cherry Burrell and Evergreen in Cedar Rapids, IA. He also owned and operated Northwinds Bar and Resort and spent the majority of his employment with Washburn County Maintenance until his retirement in 2009.
Andy had a timely sense of humor and was full of pranks and shenanigans. He was very proud of his sobriety of four years and extensive involvement in the AA community. He had an innate ability to help others in their time of need. He was a family man, a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and sibling. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he was very proud of his children. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, hunting, anything out of doors, tinkering in his garage “man cave”, and he especially loved his dogs, LeRoy and Sadie.
James is survived by: his wife, Deborah Anderson, his children; Angela (Daren) Campbell, Aaron (Amber) Anderson, and Joleen (Steve) Anderson, step-children; Holly (Joe) Howe, Misty (Jon) Weaver, and Patrick (Deanna) Jones, grandchildren; Andrew and Chloe Campbell, AJ Anderson, Jaiden Glessing, Logan Burg, Lucee Howe, Stella Weaver, and Karlynda, Dylan, and Autumn Jones, great-grandchild, Brynlee Seewell, one brother, Steve (MaryKay) Anderson, one sister, Teresa (Larry) Janda, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her was preceded by; his grandparents, his parents, two brothers, Mick and Dave Anderson, and one sister, Barbie Anderson.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for James was held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at The Spooner Funeral Home from 4 until 7 PM. Interment will be at The Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. Memorials will be given by the family to the AA Community and Veterans Organizations.
