In Memory of James Danner
James “Jim” Leo Danner, 79, of Chetek, passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2019 while on vacation with his wife in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Jim was born on June 18, 1940 in Beloit, Wisconsin the son of Russel and Viola Danner.
Jim graduated from South Beloit High School in 1958. He served the U.S. Navy for 3 years and on August 4, 1962 he married Joanne Bonebright in Sharon, Wisconsin. They lived and raised their 3 children in Beloit, Wisconsin. He worked for Ingersol Milling in Rockford, IL for 41 years retiring in 2002. Jim and Joanne moved to Chetek in 2003 where they built their new home on their tree farm.
Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working on his tree farm, hunting and traveling with his wife. He enjoyed watching college sports, but mostly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren competing in sports. Jim was a member of the Chetek Lutheran Church and active in the Chetek American Legion Post 179 and member of the Chetek American Legion Honor Guard.
Jim leaves to celebrate his memory: wife Joanne Danner, Chetek, WI; sons: Jamie (Mary), Mayville, WI, Jack (Laura), Mayville, WI and Jerry (Kris), Fond du Lac, WI, grandchildren and pallbearers: Desiree Brooke, Dominic Brooke, Chantal Danner, Brittaney Danner, Dakota Danner, Faith Danner, Erik Danner and Noah Danner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Viola Danner and his brother Bob Danner.
The funeral service for Jim will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Chetek Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Following the service please join the family for continued visitation and lunch in the church basement.
