Irene Rydberg, age 90, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed from her earthly life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sep. 23, 2020. Irene was born in Bayfield, to Frank and Elizabeth Rabideaux on April 17, 1930, the 4th oldest of 5 brothers and 3 sisters, growing up in Red Cliff. She attended school in Bayfield and graduated high school in 1947. She was married to Kenneth J Rydberg in Rice Lake on June 19, 1947. They were married for 55 years, until his death in 2002. Irene was employed at Cumberland Memorial Hospital for 35 years, initially as a nurses aide and then becoming a surgical tech in 1957. She retired in 1992. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children: Richard (Rosemary) Rydberg, Cumberland; Gary (Sharon) Rydberg, Stone Lake; Betty (John) Jorstad, Dallas; Susan (Steve) Reckner, North Prairie; four grandchildren: Ryan (Tracy) Rydberg, Rochelle (Jamie) Olson, Aaron Rydberg, and Kevin Rydberg; six great grandchildren: Cameron, Cole, and Charlotte Rydberg and Ava, Harper, and Delaney Olson; brother, Allen (Mary Jo) Rabideaux; sisters: Shirley (Bill) Ante, Joan Gruenwald, and Janet (Ben) Gustafson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Rabideaux, brothers: Francis, Robert, and Daniel Rabideaux, and sister, Eleanore DeBriyn,

A private funeral service will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cumberland with Father Bill Fournier officiating. Burial at St. Anthony Cemetery, Cumberland. Pallbearers are Ryan Rydberg, Aaron Rydberg, Rochelle Olson, Jamie Olson, Wendy Baril-Running, and Michelle Sirianni-Fisher.
