Howard Witham, age 78, a resident of Sarona, Wisconsin, died at the University of Minnesota Hospital on January 23, 2021.

Howard was born on September 1, 1942, in Kenmore, North Dakota, to parents Herb and Gladys (Ogne) Witham.

After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United State Navy and served for six years in the submarine division. After his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage to Catherine Johnson on October 11, 1969, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, Wisconsin. Howard enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing with his family. After his retirement from 3M, the couple moved to their home in Sarona where Howard was a member of the Birchwood American Legion Post #379.

Howard is survived by his wife Catherine; and sons Brad (Amy) Witham of Parker, Colorado, and their children Kate, Tamara, and Howard, and Kevin Witham of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and his daughter, Olivia.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner with honors provided by the Wisconsin Funeral Honors Program and the Birchwood American Legion.
