In Memory of Herby D. Seeger
Herby DuWayne Seeger, 90, of Turtle Lake passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Cambridge Senior Living in Rice Lake.
He was born March 30, 1933 in Prairie Farm, WI to John and Mildred (Moen) Seeger.
While serving in the Army for two years, he returned home to be married to Barbara Anne Leisz in Turtle Lake, WI on September 4, 1954. After his discharge from the Army, he and Barbara took over his parents’ family farm in Prairie Farm.
Herby was a proud and devoted dairy farmer his entire life. He had a passion for driving red tractors and managing the field work. Herby deeply valued family and reserved Sundays for sharing time and meals with them. Herb and his wife Barb had many opportunities to travel with the family to Yellowstone, Tennessee, the Bahamas, Seattle, California, Branson, and several other locations. He enjoyed attending stock car races and tractor pulls. Each year he made sure to make it to the Spooner Rodeo and the Minnesota State Fair. Card games, dancing, attending sporting events, cheering on the Packers and being a grandpa consumed much of his later years.
He is survived by son, Herby (Lynette) Seeger of Rice Lake; daughters, Kathryn (Daniel) Hubbard of Almena and Sandra (Kevin) Hoffman of Almena; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Theresa) Seeger of Rochester, MN; sisters, Elaine (Gale) Wells of Barron, WI and Mildred (Gary) Sartor of Huntington Beach, CA.
Herb was preceded in death by wife, Barbara Anne Seeger; parents, John and Mildred Seeger; sister, Beverly Mullarky; and brother-in-law, Doug Ritchie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday June 26, 2023 at United Lutheran Church, Prairie Farm, WI with Sara Feld officiating. Visitation 1.5 hours prior. Pallbearers are Josh Hubbard, Nathan Roemhild, Collin Hoffman, Justin Hoffman, Jason Seeger, Cory Seeger, and Andrew Seeger.
