In Memory of Herbert Beiswanger, Jr.
Herbert Charles Beiswanger, Jr., age 90, of Ridgeland, WI passed away Sunday, July 18th, 2021 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner.
He was born November 21st, 1930 to Herbert & Esther Adelia (Bakken) Beiswanger at Ridgeland where he was raised & attended school.
He graduated from Barron High School in 1949. After graduating, he did odd jobs until enlisting in the US Army in 1951 where he served in the Korean Conflict. On November 10th, 1956, he was married to Eunice Olson at Ridgeland. Together they raised 3 children & resided in Ridgeland. Herb worked at the Ridgeland Farmer’s Union Feed Mill for 20 years & then Lampert’s in Ridgeland for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Willard Hinzman American Legion Post #511 of Ridgeland as well as the Ridgeland Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending his spare time camping at Bear Lake near Haugen & enjoyed many hunting seasons with his buddies, sons & grandsons at Gordon, WI. Fishing on Bear Lake with Grandpa B will always be treasured by his grandchildren. Herb & Eunice also enjoyed traveling throughout the US & Canada. He was a great man & will be missed by all.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Anthony Knutson, brother: David Beiswanger & brothers & sisters-in-law: August & Katherine Olson, Norman & Muriel Tennerman. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Eunice, children: Charles Beiswanger, Vicki (Gordon) Knutson & John (Lori) Beiswanger, grandchildren: Terica Schamberger, Jenna (Andy) Nelson, BreAnn Scherer, Matthew & Michael Beiswanger, great grandchildren: Shaylee, Ashley, Bredon, Colin, Bailey, Bella & Beau, brother: Roland Beiswanger, brother-in-law: Eugene (Pat) Olson, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23rd at the Ridgeland Community Center. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Dallas, rural Ridgeland with Military Honors accorded by the Willard Hinzman American Legion. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the community center on Friday.
