January 24, 1929 - May 15, 2019

Helen “Rosie” Dillie, age 90, went to her Heavenly home on May 15th, 2019.  She lived her Christian walk continuously from her accepting Jesus as her personal Savior thru the ministry of Long Lake Baptist Church in 1971 to the current Northwoods Baptist Church, where she was a founding member. Her goal in life was to share the Good News of Jesus.

Helen Rossetta Kenney was born on January 24th, 1929 in Joy, Illinois to Thomas & Nellie Kenney. She attended the Joy Community School District and was a graduate of the Class of 1947. She soon fell in love and married her life partner, Ernest O. Dillie on Sept. 14, 1947, in which to this union 5 children were born- Michael, Daniel, Larry, Ernie, and Gloria. They had lived in Aledo, IL, Tucson, AZ and later moved to the Spooner area in 1970. They were married 64 years. Ernie was employed at Washburn County and he died in March of 2012.

Rosie was involved in the Sugar Grove Woman's Club near Aledo. She so enjoyed her friends and Secret Sisters.

She is survived by 3 boys, Daniel (Fawn) of Davenport, IA, Larry (Roxy) of Glendale, AZ, Ernie (Terry) of Joy, IL, and daughter Gloria (Mark) Thompson of Trego, WI, and daughter in law Judy Dillie of Joy, IL, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, brother, Daryl (Pat) Kenney of Enon, Ohio, sisters in law Priscilla Kenney and Jeanine Kenney both of Aledo, IL.

Please join us for a visitation and viewing on Monday, May 20th from 10 -11 AM, followed at 11 AM by a "Celebration of Life Service" for Helen "Rosie" Dillie.  Martin Coon will be officiating with special music by Tony and Gina Martin.  Interment will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be her grandsons- Michael Dillie, Rob Dillie, Lyle Dillie, Otto Dillie, Travis Thompson, and Trevor Thompson.  Honorary casket bearers will be – Derek Dillie, Adrian Dillie and Jason Dillie.

Her walk with the Lord was a calling for her. She took her faith very seriously. If she told you that she would pray for you; she would kneel by her bed and pray.

She has left us to join her Lord and other loved ones. If we cry, they are truly tears of joy. She never suffered, she lived and died on her wishes. Her wish for you, is Jesus!

Memorials may be made in her name to the Northwoods Baptist Church.
