In Memory of Hedy L. Lindloff

January 19, 1943 - August 5, 2025

Hedy was born January 19, 1943, and passed away at her home on August 5, 2025. She was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin but moved to Rice Lake as a child where she grew up, married, and raised her family. Her parents were Wilber (Bill) LaMere, and Margaret (Marge) LaMere, who preceded her in death. Hedy was one of six daughters: Jean Engstrom, Marilyn (Wayne) Brenholt, and Deborah (Steven) Collins. She was preceded in death by sisters: Patricia LaMere, and Kenna LaMere.

Over the years Hedy has had many jobs in the hospitality and retail fields, where her friendly spirit shined through as she was well liked by all. Hedy will be remembered as a selfless wife and a caring mother who raised four boys into fine young men: Larry (Cheryl) Cook, Guy (Amy) Cook, Russ Cook, and Donald (Sheila) Cook. With grandchildren: Jordan, Nate, Abigail, Justin, Samantha, Tabitha, Zach, Josh, Jesse, and Courtney. With great grandchildren: Henry, Thomas, Harrison, Blanche, Blake, and Henry.

Hedy married Wayne when her boys were mostly grown and out of the house. Wayne and Hedy greatly enjoyed their retirement years together. She loved reading, sewing, baking, and gardening. But her true joy was spending time at her home with Wayne, where they would often take car rides together, enjoying the scenery and wildlife, but most importantly, enjoying each other’s company. Wayne’s parents preceded Hedy in death: Herman and Alfreda Lindloff.

She is survived by the Lindloff children, Wayne’s siblings: Larry (Kelly) Lindloff, Gary (Kathy) Lindloff, Jim (Debbie) Lindloff, Roger (Julie) Lindloff, Nancy (Ed) Wiesneth, and Vicki (Paul) Endris. Wayne’s children include: Dennis, Dawn, Brenda, and Jared, with grandchildren as well. Hedy’s wish was not to have a memorial service or gravesite, but the family will be planning a celebration of her life soon.
