In Memory of Harvey Krogstad
Harvey LeRoy Krogstad Age 79, of Rice Lake, WI died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Heritage Lakeside in Rice Lake.
He was born on June 5, 1940 in Rice Lake to Harold and Anna (Broten) Krogstad and grew up on a farm (where the Cedar Mall is located) and helped the landlord farm in his younger years. At the age of 17 the family moved to town and he started to work at the Snow Fence Company where he kept these friends for many years. He then worked at American Excelsior Company and in 1963 he installed the first natural gas pipelines in town and the pipeline took him to Florida and Mississippi, he also worked with his brother at the Wisconsin Gas Co., worked for many cable contractors, worked with his uncle, Don Broten for Northwest Transport, and then became a custodian at the Rice Lake High School and Rice Lake Middle School for many years and retired in 2000 where he worked for many nice people in the school system. Harvey loved traveling up north to go hunting and to be with the camaraderie of the guys talking. He also enjoyed driving up and down Main Street to stop at different places to talk with them.
He is survived by a brother, Harold (JoAnn) Krogstad of Rice Lake; a nephew, Tad Krogstad of Neenah, WI and Casey Krogstad of Glidden, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Anna Krogstad.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM Wednesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association, 16655 W. Bluemound Road, Brookfield, WI 53005
