Harry James Bossany, 85, of Chetek, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on April 28, 2023.

Harry was born on February 12, 1938, in Chetek to John and Mary Bossany.

He grew up on a farm east of Chetek with his six brothers. He found his path in life with a smile always upon his face. Harry loved people, talking with them, joke-telling, and making friends wherever he went. In 1959 he decided that being a barber would be a great fit. The year was 1962 when Harry moved back to Chetek, and he joined his brother Johnnie in their shop on Knapp Street. Harry barbered for over 60 years. As much as Harry loved the barbershop, his love for his family knew no end. Family was everything for Harry. Into that he mixed in polka music, playing the drums, watching his favorite sports teams on tv, fishing, golf, storytelling, cracking jokes, and visiting the local establishments in town, starting every day with breakfast and coffee at his favorite places. Harry was Chetek....and Harry is Chetek.

Harry is survived by his wife Dianne, son Michael (Sheri) of Byron, IL, grandchildren: Hadyn, Edyn, and Aspyn, of Byron, IL, Arnie his great-grandson, two brothers; Joe (Gerry) of Chetek, and Dave (Joan), of Weyerhaeuser. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Cipov) Bossany, son Jeffery, and four brothers; Steve, Johnnie, Eddie, and Louie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Burnham-Ours Kolstad Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

The Burnham-Ours Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
