In Memory of Harriet J. Yeazle

December 31, 1941 - May 18, 2023

Harriet Jean Yeazle died peacefully on May 18, 2023, at the age of 81. She lived a very good and full life right up until her passing. She was one of a kind, and when you visited her, she always had her words of wisdom to share. She truly loved her family with all of her heart.

She was born December 31, 1941, to parents Everett and Gertrude Johnson. She was the last of six children, the baby of her family. Most of her memories involved cranberries and the Farm. While growing up, her father was a manager at several cranberry marshes, including Chittamo Cranberry Marsh in Minong, WI.

She met James Yeazle on March 14th 1959, and after a whirlwind romance, they were married on September 12th that same year. They worked together on the Chittimo Cranberry marsh for the next 12 years. They moved back to Spooner in 1970 and worked side by side to start their Farm, which is still running today. She loved to watch the birds and squirrels which she fed from the feeders on her deck. She also had a front row window view of the cows and calves up on the hill.

She worked many jobs throughout her life within the Spooner Community. Some of these jobs included working at the Spooner Outlet for many years and then retired from her last job at Spooner Health at the age of 70, where she worked in the cafeteria.

She had a passion for debating and sharing her words of wisdom, but most of all, she loved watching the new life that God had created in the springtime.

She is survived by her daughters Cheri VanGuilder and Tina Yeazle, daughter-in-law Sandy Yeazle, “adopted” son Arvid (Amy) Johnson, sister Gwen Organ, sister-in-Law Pat (Jerry) Johnson, 10 grandchildren, MANY great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, “adopted” grandchildren, and a community of friends.

She is proceeded in death by her husband James Yeazle, son Michael Yeazle, son in law Kim VanGuilder, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

A memorial service for Harriet will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at 4pm, at the Spooner Funeral Home with a gathering of friends and family from 3-4pm. An interment will follow services at the Spooner Cemetery next to her husband James.
