In Memory of Harold W. Putzke, Jr.

January 3, 1947 - December 31, 2024

Harold “Hal” Putzke Jr., age 77, of Barron passed away on Tuesday, December 31st.

Hal was Born January 3, 1947 in Franklin, Virginia to Harold Sr. and Dorothy (Wells).

He graduated from Barron High School in 1965 and joined the Air Force where he served as a C-130 air plane mechanic. He served till the late 60's, then returned home to farm and milk cows with his Dad south of Barron till the early 70's.

When they quit milking cows, Hal and his family moved North of Barron and bought his Grandparents’ farm. He farmed there for 24 years while working various places as a butcher. In 2000, he moved back to the farm he and his dad milked cows on south of Barron, and continued to raise beef cattle until 2022 when he sold his cattle.

One of his favorite retirement past-times was ruffling feathers of people on the internet. He had many aliases on Facebook and enjoyed ribbing a wide variety of people about politics and current events. He also enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren grow up. He felt his greatest accomplishment in life was his grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Chris Putzke of Eau Claire, David (Elisha)Putzke of Rice Lake, and Julie (Tony) Beckel of Woodbury, MN; 7 grandchildren; and his sister, Sharon (Al) Larson of Barron.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
