July 9, 1939 - March 3, 2017

Gordon Dale “Gordy” Oie, age 77, of Spooner, WI, passed away peacefully Friday, March 3, 2017 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  He was born July 9, 1939 in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the son of Olaf and Adella (Rokke) Oie.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Lynn Stock on December 11, 1993 at the Anah Church in Crystal Township, WI. 

Gordy was an avid hunter who loved hunting deer, ducks, geese and pheasants.  He enjoyed shooting trap and skeet with several different leagues throughout the years.  He loved his dogs, not only as loyal companions, but also as skilled hunting partners which he proudly worked in field trials.  Gordy also enjoyed fishing with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara of Spooner; his children, Timothy (Linda) Oie and Kristen (Scot) Sandhoefner both of Elk River, MN; his grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Oie, Kelli Sandhoefner, Alysha Oie, Ryan Sandhoefner and Cassandra Oie; and his siblings, Arfield Oie, Milton Oie, Robert (Marlys) Oie, Richard (Ruth) Oie, David (Marlyce) Oie, Ray (Nona) Oie, and Beverly (Sheldon) Sandberg.

In addition to his parents, Gordy is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Oie; and his sisters, Corella Hamre and Dorothy Mosio.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Spooner Funeral Home, 306 Rusk Street in Spooner, where visitation will held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Anah Cemetery in Crystal Township, WI.
