Gloria Helen Bednar Age 92, of Haugen, WI passed away peacefully Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Gloria was born on July 2, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Anna (Cherney) Kase. She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, IL and then St. Anthony de Padua Nursing School. Gloria was married to Francis Bednar on April 30, 1949 in Chicago, IL. She was a Registered Nurse Lakeside Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, the Rice Lake Convalescent Center and then became the Director of Nursing for 18 years. She was very active in Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and also a Presider. Gloria played the violin and piano and was in the Christians Woman Organization of Haugen. She loved music, singing, gardening, reading, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Jeanne) Bednar of Haugen, WI, Susan (Joe) Martin of Lake Oswego, OR, Dick (Donna) Bednar of Rice Lake, WI, Patti (Craig) Smith of Altoona, WI and Donald (Marlene) Bednar of Colby, WI; 11 grandchildren, Jeff (Tracy), Kimberly, Lindsey (Chris), Riley, Austin (Kayla), Jessa, Elle (Brandon), Lucas, McKainen, Krista (Stephen) and Jenna; 10 great-grandchildren, Ayla, Gabe, Grace, Nolan, Sophia, Sam, Fletcher, Lincoln, Jameson and Brielle; a sister, Jean (Robert) Dahms of Lyons, Illinois; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Kase; her husband, Francis Bednar; a baby daughter, Frances.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, WI, Father Samuel Schneider officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM Wednesday at the Church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen.
