Glenne Marvin Strand Age 82, of Birchwood, WI died Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI.

He was born on February 19, 1937 in Clarissa, MN to Oscar and Beatrice (Broberg) Strand. Glenne graduated from the Clarissa High School and then entered the United States Marines in 1955 and was Honorably Discharged as a Buck Sergeant in 1961. Glenne attended the University of Minnesota and then graduated from Dunwoody Technical College with a degree in Industrial Heating. He was married to Elaine Olson on June 1, 1963 in Moorhead, MN. He loved to fish, hunt, bird watch, he was a Boy Scout Leader and delivered Meals of Wheels.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Strand of Birchwood; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Erik (Jeannie) Strand and Stieg Strand; 4 grandchildren, Katie Houchin, AnnaMarie Naylor, Taylor Smith-Bothun and Andrew Strand; a great grandson, Carson Naylor; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Strand; parents, Oscar and Beatrice Strand; siblings, Nancy (Keith) Imes, Roland (Liss) Strand, Adele (Arnold) Johnsen, Elinore (Lloyd) Duda and Melvin Strand.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, June 3, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Birchwood, WI, Rev. Mark Bartlett officiating, with interment and military rites accorded him by the Birchwood American Legion Post at 2PM Monday at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Monday. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
