In Memory of Glenn Lilly


January 10, 1946 - August 26, 2020

Glenn Anthony Lilly Age 74 of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Heritage Lakeside in Rice Lake.

He was born on January 10, 1946 to Russell and Lelah Lilly in Rice Lake. He entered the United States Navy in 1965 and was stationed as a SK3 petty officer on a naval ship overseas during the Vietnam War. He worked as a store clerk in the Navy and was responsible for transporting wounded soldiers onto the ship to be helicoptered to the nearest hospital. Glenn was married to Kathryn “Kathy” Holec on May 24, 1970 in Dobie, WI. He was a bartender at several locations in Rice Lake including the American Legion where he was the Commander-In-Chief for 3 years. He also worked at Stein Steel and Badger Steel as a bookkeeper. He enjoyed gardening, baking, socializing and laughing with friends and family, antiquing, playing cribbage, and playing pool.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lilly of Rice Lake; 4 children, Dennis Lilly from Rice Lake, WI, Tammy Johnson (Tim) from Glenwood City, WI, Neda Larsen from Hudson, WI and Jed Lilly (Jen) from Rice Lake, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jatelyn Johnson, Allaina Johnson, Rayna Larsen, Lila Larsen, and Ella Larsen; a brother, Dale Lilly; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; Russell and Lelah Lilly; 2 brothers, Lee Lilly and Dean Lilly and a son-in-law, Bryant Larsen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 26, 2020 at his son’s house, Jed Lilly, from 12-5:00 at 2554 21st Avenue, Rice Lake, WI. Please no cards, just come and celebrate Glenn’s life.
