In Memory of Gladys M. Lawler


June 16, 1932 - September 1, 2022

Gladys Mae Lawler, age 90, passed away peacefully at Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake on Thursday, September 1, 2022. She now lives on eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born on June 16th, 1932, to Harry and Olga (Foss) Feldeen in Rockford, Illinois.

Gladys grew up in Rockford, along with her sister Norma (Rogers) and brothers Elmore and Julius Sanders. She graduated from East High School in Rockford. While working as a secretary after graduating, Gladys met Air Force Staff Sergeant Curtis James Lawler. They were married in Dubuque, Iowa, in April, 1955. They were stationed in various locations, living in Germany, Turkey, California, and Texas, while raising their 2 sons Daniel and Randy. They eventually settled in Rice Lake in 1970, where Gladys excelled as a homemaker, loving and blessing her family with her many talents and abilities. She eventually developed a successful business selling Avon products for many years before retiring. To her many friends, she was affectionately known as “Gladie”. She was beloved by all who knew her, and made a lasting impact on so many lives. Her final years were spent living at Dove Healthcare, where she was loved and cared for by all the wonderful people who work there. A special thank you to Marshfield Medical Center Hospice for the care and support they provided.

Gladys is survived by her sons Dan (Susan) of Rice Lake, Randy of Ashland; 2 granddaughters Danielle and Jessica Lawler; cousin Bill (Barb) Burdick of Birchwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Olga; her beloved husband Curt Lawler who passed away in 1985; the many members of her family living in Rockford, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Red Cedar Community Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Todd Arneson officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday 9/13/2022 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
