Gina K. Hunnicutt, 61, of Turtle Lake passed Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her home.

Gina was adopted at a young age to Glenn and Geraldine Wellever, who raised her. Life experiences and starting a family brought her to a couple of states, including Oklahoma, prior to her landing in Turtle Lake, WI.

Living in Wisconsin, Gina came to appreciate the outdoors with her friend Roger. Together they enjoyed fishing and hunting. Having a degree in Horticulture, she also loved spending time in the garden. When Gina wasn’t outside, she enjoyed gaming, particularly playing “Zelda”.

For almost 10 years she worked at the Library, a job that was very special to her. She made many connections and friends there. In recent years she was employed at the St. Croix Turtle Lake Casino.

Gina will be missed by her fiancé, Roger Groehler of Turtle Lake, WI; special family Anna (Aaron) Groehler of Turtle Lake, WI; Abel Bruce Henry, who knew her as “Nana”; daughters, Gina (Ted) Daniels and Brandy Hunnicutt, both of Wilburton, OK; son, Jeremy Hunnicutt of Wilburton, OK, and many, many friends.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 7 PM at Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

Visitation will be from 5 -7 PM.

Skinner Funeral Home of Turtle Lake is serving the family.
