
In Memory of Geraldine "Jeri" Stepan
Geraldine "Jeri" Stepan, 93, of Webster, WI, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at Burnett Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family. Jeri was a beacon of warmth and kindness, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on January 28, 1932, in Superior, WI, Jeri spent her formative years in the Duluth-Superior area. She later moved to Point Lake in Webster, WI, where she built a life filled with love and laughter alongside her life partner, Carol. Jeri was preceded in death by Carol, Carol's sons Jim and Jack, her beloved mother Grace, and her sister Carolyn.
Jeri is survived by her brother Dale (Margo), Carol's daughter Sharrie, her godchildren Alicia (Joe), Ashley, and Jackie, as well as many other family members and friends who were touched by her generosity and spirit.
Throughout her life, Jeri embraced a variety of careers, each reflecting her nurturing nature and commitment to her community. She ran a group home, served as a grant writer for the St. Croix Tribe, and dedicated over 30 years to running a daycare, where the children she cared for became an extension of her family. Though she did not have children of her own, Jeri took immense pride in being the eldest sister, especially in caring for her younger siblings, particularly her brother Dale, who held a special place in her heart, and caring for Carol's children and grandchildren.
Jeri was full of love and life and shared countless joyful moments filled with laughter, singing, and life lessons with her loved ones. She enjoyed living her last years with goddaughter Ashley and her children and did A LOT of singing.
An avid quilter, Jeri was known for her beautiful creations that brought warmth and comfort to many. Her quilts were not just pieces of fabric; they were woven with love and stories, much like her life.
Jeri will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and creativity will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. As we remember Jeri, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. Her stories will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to the beautiful impact she had on the world around her.
