In Memory of Gerald W. Christensen
Gerald “Jerry” William Christensen, 87, of Milltown, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Jerry was born on March 22, 1937, in Shafer, Minnesota, the son of August and Mae Christensen.
Jerry married Gladys Mesecher in North Wood, IA on July 26, 1958. He worked as a farmer, he worked with horses and milked cows. He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He also had many jobs which included hauling cement blocks, working at Old Dutch making potato chips, hauling milk, custodial work at Taylors Falls school and at Polaris until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed his dogs, taking drives, and horses.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife Gladys, daughters, Natalie (James) Otto and Teresa (Dale) Alling, grandchildren, William and Kathryn Otto, Charles and Nicole Otto, Emily and Cameron Runquist, Christina Alling (Cory), Danielle (Christopher) Petersen, 13 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Daryl (Cindy) Mesecher and sister-in-law, Judy Christensen, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mae, sisters, Elaine, Viola, Marion, Ethyl, Lydia, brothers August Jr. and Paul, father and mother-in-law, Alfred, and Ida Mesecher.
Jerry will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin with full military honors.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
