In Memory of Gerald H. Brown


June 16, 1939 - February 16, 2024

Gerald “Jerry” Harry Edward Brown, age 84, of Spooner, WI, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner.

Jerry was born on June 16, 1939, in St. Paul, MN, to parents, Harry and Ethel (Bipes) Brown. Jerry graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, MN, and later began a 35-year career at Remmele Engineering where he was a foreman. In 1985 Jerry moved to Siren, WI and continued to commute to Remmele until his retirement in 2001. On February 21, 2002, Jerry married the love of his life, Eva, and the couple built a house together in Spooner, WI.

Jerry was a professional archer and would often compete in large tournaments around the country. He held many State records and several Minnesota State Championships. He also enjoyed playing pool, was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, and would spend hours in his shop woodworking. Jerry was deeply committed to firearms safety, dedicating years to mentoring and training young individuals in the field.

Together with Eva, they cherished moments with family, and enjoyed hosting memorable Christmas gatherings that united their loved ones.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Rodger Brown and Craig (Laurie) Brown; daughter-in-law, Joy Brown; stepchildren, Lori James, Keith (Kim) Zimmerman, and Janet Novitski; siblings, Karen, Bob, Sue, and Linda; good friends, Brett and Carol; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva, who he loved with all of his heart, and recently his son, Jerry Brown Jr.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
