George Louis Richter Jr. Age 81, formerly of Rice Lake, WI died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, WI from the disease Alzheimer’s.

He was born on January 25, 1938 in Rice Lake to George and Helen (Stodola) Richter Sr. George graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1957 and was married to Rita Ann Crotteau on October 18, 1958 in Rice Lake. George was a general contractor of homes, pole sheds, concrete work and commercial buildings. He enjoyed working, ice fishing, deer hunting, watching the birds, reading, playing cards, NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Ann Richter of Stanley, WI; 4 children, Mark Richter of Eau Claire, WI, Melissa (Keith) Miller of Appling, Georgia, George (Lori) Richter of Cameron, WI and Scott (Jamye) Richter of Rice Lake; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dan Richter of Cambridge, WI and Ron Richter of Menominee, Michigan; a sister, Linda Helverson of Burlington, WI; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Richter; and a sister, Suzanne Scheurer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Samuel Schneider officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the Church on Wednesday.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, masses to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake would be appreciated.
