In Memory of George R. Coleman


February 8, 1945 - July 13, 2023

George Raymond Coleman, age 78, a beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away July 13, 2023.

Born February 8, 1945, George lived a life filled with love for his family & friends, the great outdoors and a cold Miller High Life.

George was a dedicated father cherishing his two children, Jeff and Karlye. Despite the pain of losing Jeff, George found strength in his daughter Karlye who remained a source of joy and comfort throughout his life.

George took immense pride in being a grandfather to his grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Ben, Seth and Ethan. They brought him immeasurable happiness and he adored spending time with them and his great-grandchildren.

In 2012 George fell in love with his beloved Janice. George and Janice cherished their time together especially their time at The Point.

George (Uncle Buck) was a man who found solace and fulfillment in nature. Whether he was casting his line in the lake, taking a trip to Canada, or heading to the hunting shack with the guys he found peace and tranquility in the great outdoors.

Woodworking was a passion that captured George’s heart. He possessed a remarkable talent for craftsmanship, and took great delight in transforming raw pieces of wood into beautiful creations. His projects will continue to be cherished by his loved ones serving as tangible reminders of his creativity and craftsmanship.

George leaves a legacy of love, kindness and a passion for life.

He is survived by his daughter Karlye (Doug) Nieman, beloved friend Janice McNitt. Grandchildren Sarah (Matt) Hom, Stephanie (Josh) Klint, Ben (Laura) Nieman, Seth (Courtney) Nieman, Ethan Nieman. Great grandchildren Lukas, Levi, Cole, Oliver, Henry, Lincoln, Janelle, Julian, Gus, Jack, Jamison, Ila, Gannon. The McNitt family Janice, Rick (Carolyn), Steve, Sherry, Seth, Bryce (Sandy), Afton (Josh), Sam, Lola, Adrienne, Owen, Kai, Esme.

He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ruth Coleman, wife Mary Coleman, son Jeff Coleman, and siblings Shirley, Janella, Doretta and Forest.

Services will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, with visitation starting at 10AM and memorial service at 11AM at the Spooner Funeral Home. Immediately following the services there will be a time for fellowship and bars.
