Gene Dopkins, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on November 22, 2023. Gene was born on September 24, 1927 in River Falls, WI. to parents Warren and Vinta (Nopp) Dopkins.

After graduating from high school, Gene worked for the telephone company for 37 years.

In Gene’s free time he enjoyed hunting. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 96, the Webster Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, 4-H Club and the South Fork Saddle Club. He also loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren and great grandson grow.

Gene is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Kukuska) Dopkins; parents and grandparents.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, June; children, David Dopkins and Barbara (Fred) Howe; brother, Donald (Mary) Dopkins; grandchildren, Kirsten (Shaun Keesling) Howe and Evan (Sarah) Howe; great grandson, Leo; along with other family members and friends.

The memorial service for Gene will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 1-2 PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.

Memorials are preferred to Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, WI.
