In Memory of Gail Talbert
October 25, 1943 - December 11, 2017
Gail Talbert, age 74, a resident of Shell Lake, died on Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Shell Lake Health Care Center.
Gail was born on October 25, 1943, in Des Plaines, Illinois to parents Walter and Ruth (Holtdorf) Procknow. She attended a one room school near Salem, Wisconsin and later transferred and graduated from Central High School in Salem the Class of 1961. She then attended and received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She remained living in Salem and began working at the Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois until 1969 when she was married and moved to Shell Lake. After her move to Shell Lake, she worked at the Shell Lake Hospital until her daughter Jamie was born at which time she became a stay home Mom for many years. In 1990, she returned to work as an LPN for Indianhead Community Action Agency for several years until she took a job at Terraceview Living Center until her retirement in 2009. In her spare time, and after her retirement, Gail enjoyed spending time with her daughter, reading, and puzzles.
Gail is survived by her daughter Jamie Talbert of Shell Lake, brother Richard (Diann) Greenwald of Shell Lake, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents, step father Elmer, sisters Mary and Ruth, brother Walter, and son in law Ben Miniatt.
A graveside service is being planned for the spring of 2018 at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Shell Lake.
