In Memory of Frederick W. Littlefield


December 23, 1942 - July 7, 2024

Frederick Walter Littlefield was born on December 23, 1942 in Beaver Township, Polk County, WI.

The son of Ray and Mathilda (Peterson) Littlefield, he was baptized, confirmed, and married at the Elim Lutheran Church in Range, WI. Fred was married July 9, 1988 to Jerre (Brede) Moore and became a father to her three children. Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He was stationed in South Korea, where he worked in the Motor Pool near the DMZ. He was honorably discharged with a rank of Specialist E5. He participated in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington, DC in April 2023. In October 2023, a Legacy Stone was placed in his honor at the Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville, WI. He was also a member of VFW Post 6856 where he served as Chaplain. Faith was always a priority to Fred. He was an active Member wherever he attended church. He served many years on church councils, numerous committees, and sang in choir. He always loved being with his family. He was a loving husband, kind and wonderful father, and he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Fred passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Marshfield Medical Center Eau Claire, WI. He was 81 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carol Littlefield and LaVonne Augustine Watkins, and brother Rodney Littlefield.

He is survived by Jerre, his wife of almost 36 years, his children Christopher (Tiffany) Moore (Clarks Summit, PA), Jessica (Chris) Peterson (Amherst Junction, WI), Jaime (Amber) Moore (Ashland, WI), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Ardala Littlefield (Hayward, WI) and Delayne Green (Waupaca, WI), brother Max (Barbara) Littlefield (Balsam Lake, WI), sister-in-law Karen Littlefield (Turtle Lake, WI), many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday July 13, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, 15 E Sawyer St., Rice Lake, WI at 11AM, with visitation to be held from 9-11AM at the church, Rev. Jon Cluppert officiating. Interment will be at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, 1263 60th St / County Road D, Range, WI, with military honors performed by VFW Post 6856, Milltown, WI. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
