In Memory of Eva M. Oestreicher


November 23, 1944 - May 25, 2024

Eva Marie (Olson) Oestreicher, age 79, died peacefully in Lakeville, MN, on May 25, 2024.

Eva was born in Rice Lake, WI on November 23, 1944 to Wayne and Violet (Peterson) Olson.

She was raised in Poskin and graduated from Barron High School. She met her husband Bill Oestreicher at Trinity Hospital in Ashland, where they both worked. They married on August 14, 1965 at St. Agnes Church. They were married for 52 years and raised 3 daughters. Eva worked as a dialysis technician at Rice Lake Hospital. Eva loved gardening, quilting, antiquing, and cats. One of her favorite pastimes was watching and feeding the birds and other animals that regularly visited their riverfront property. She also adored spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan and Clark Kerndt of Apple Valley, MN and Cheryl Oestreicher of Boise, Idaho; 4 grandchildren, Miranda, Ava, William, and Elizabeth; and a brother William Olson of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Violet Olson, her brother James Olson, her husband Bill Oestreicher, and daughter Karen Oestreicher.

A service will be held at 11AM Friday, June 7, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI. Father Joseph Kumar officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is serving and assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Hydrocephalus Association.
