Eugene Raymond "Gene" Soltau, 77, of Cumberland died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home. He was born August 8, 1941 in Cumberland, WI to Irvin and Laura (Strenke) Soltau, Sr. He was married in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cumberland on October 31, 1963 to Wanda Johnson. Gene worked for Bents Motors for over 30 years as an Allis Chalmers mechanic, followed by S & S Tractor for 14 years. He loved cutting firewood and hunting.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Wanda of Cumberland; children: Tim Soltau of Cameron, Terry Soltau of Cameron, Lisa (Rob) Buchholz of Cumberland and Jamey Soltau of Cumberland; grandchildren: Amanda Buchholz, Shane Buchholz, Devan Soltau, Terry Soltau, Jr., Christopher Soltau; great-granddaughters: Freya Soltau and Elliott "Peanut" Kilcoyne; sister, Joan Hauck of Cameron; sister-in-law, Shirley (Eischen) Soltau of Turtle Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial gathering to celebrate Gene's life at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2019.
