Eugene “Hammer” Hammer, 71, of Turtle Lake died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at his home. He was born November 4, 1948 in Amery to Elmer and Elizabeth (Anton) Hammer.

Eugene proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.

Eugene is survived by his sister, Nancy (Buzz Valenty ) Hammer; claimed kiddo, Jon (Ashley) Galatowitsch; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Elizabeth; sister, Betty Kuchenmeister; wife, Noreen Hammer; and infant son, Eric Hammer.

A Celebration of Life for Eugene will be at the Hotel Bar and Grill from 2-5 PM Sunday, March 8, 2020. A time for visiting will take place at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake from 11-2 PM. Burial will take place at St. Ann Cemetery in the summer with full military honors.

The family ask that those who plan to attend bring a story or memory to share.
