Esther Ella Hansen, 99,  of Comstock died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Heritage Lakeside. She was born July 31, 1919 in Howells, NE to Joseph and Petrolina (Benes) Palas. She was married in Comstock on March 27, 1945,  to Alvin Hansen who preceded her in death on April 6, 1964.  Together they raised two children on their family farm.  

Esther will be remembered for her delicious baking and home cooking.  She enjoyed visiting with neighbors, attending auctions and going to garage sales.  She will be remembered for her hard work done on the farm.  Esther was confirmed at and an active member of Christ Lutheran Church for 78 years.  

She is survived by: her son, Brian Hansen of Comstock; her daughter, Glenda and husband, Thomas Bjugstad of Rice Lake; grandson, Dan Bjugstad as well as many other family and friends.  Esther was preceded in death by husband, Alvin,  sisters: Bea Koliha, Agnes Palas, Adelyn Zalesky, Vlasta Karel; and brother, Joe Palas, other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 22, 2018  at Christ Lutheran Church, Comstock with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dan Bjugstad, Phillip Seeger, Jim Catlin, John Soldner, Charlie Turner, Mike Naessen and Dick Naessen.
