In Memory of Ernest Henkel, Jr.
Ernest "Butch" Henkel, Jr., 54, of Hayward passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Butch was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 18, 1965, to parents Ernest Henkel, Sr and Susan (Milligan) Henkel. He was a life long lover of German car racing and a Porsche Master Tech, and spent a lot of his time creating memories alongside race crews, friends, and his daughters on the race track. He had a love for the outdoors, traveling with his family, camping and fishing.
He enjoyed bringing his grandson to do things and teaching him how to use tools and repair things. His Grandson often referred to him as, "The Fixer".
Butch is "still going" in the hearts of his loving parents Ernest and Susan Henkel, his grandmother, Vi Henkel, his sister, Melinda A. Henkel, his daughters Jillian Henkel and Melinda (and Chad) Ledford, his grandsons, Jayson Henkel, 5, and Leland Ledford, 1, his Godson Richard Jenovese, 5, and his good friend, Kenny, along with many other wonderful friends and family who took the time to visit, talk to and pray with him during his trying time.
Butch was a dedicated son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
There will be no service, as Butch requested. However, his friends and family are all celebrating him in special ways.
