In Memory of Elsie M. Kinsley


August 12, 1932 - April 27, 2023

Elsie Marie Adeline Kinsley, age 90, of Winter, WI passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI.

Elsie was born August 12 1932 in Draper Wisconsin.

The daughter of William and Frances (Bistrom) Hewitt. She was raised and went to school in Draper Wisconsin and graduated valedictorian of her class. On May 27, 1950 she married Floyd Kinsley at the Presbyterian church in Winter Wisconsin. Together they had five children. They worked the family farm and did many other jobs including logging in the woods with horses, driving for the Head start program of hauling children. She read electric meters for North Central Power Company of Radisson for twenty some years always coming home to help on the farm. She was a member of the local Homemakers Club. Elsie always enjoyed sewing clothes and making meals for family and friends, which included great desserts of pies cookies and cakes. One of her best was making homemade bread and sending some home with the family and neighbors. Elsie enjoyed cutting out newspaper articles of family members and giving them to you when you were older. In her later years Elsie enjoyed driving friends who needed a ride to a doctor visit and having friends over to the house to play cards. Elsie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor loved by all.

Elsie is survived by three children, Ronald (Cheryl) Kinsley of Radisson, WI, Jeanne Carole (Henry Pete) Hanson of Radisson, WI, Elaine (Jim) Nyberg of Stone Lake, WI; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; son, David Kinsley; and daughter, Janet LaCount.

A memorial service celebrating Elsie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Winter, WI. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Winter Cemetery.

Elsie’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the Water’s Edge Care Center for all the care and love they gave to their mother over the past four years.
