Elizabeth “Betty” Ellen Gibson Age 86, of Rice Lake, WI formerly of Onamia, MN died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Dove Healthcare in Bloomer, WI.

She was born on February 24, 1933 in Onamia, MN to Carl and Myrtle (Hawkinson) Leander. Betty graduated from the Onamia High School in 1950 and was married to Charles “Chuck” Gibson on July 4, 1953 in Onamia, MN. She loved being a homemaker and taking care of her husband and children. Betty loved to cook, sew, she learned how to key punch and was active in her church.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles “Chuck” Gibson of Rice Lake; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Michael and Cindy Gibson of Mikana, WI, Mark Gibson (Pat MacDonell) of Minneapolis, MN & Jim and Dawn Gibson of Marshfield, WI; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Myrtle Leander; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Gibson; and a brother, Bob Leander.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, with Rev. Paul Johnson. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals.
