In Memory of Duane C. Adams


October 3, 1960 - February 11, 2025

Duane C. Adams, age 64, of Minong, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his cabin.

Duane Clifford Adams was born October 3, 1960, in Salem, IN. Duane was raised in Spooner, WI where he attended school. Shortly after graduating from Spooner High School in 1979, Duane joined the U.S. Air Force. Duane spent over ten years in service to his country and was honorably discharged. Duane moved to Wichita, KS and began his work in hydraulics and eventually had his own business, Duane’s Hydraulics. Duane would operate this business for five years before deciding to move to St. Cloud, MN. Duane began a career as a truck driver for McFarland Trucking and then moved to Minong, WI where he worked with his brother at Lloyd Adams Trucking. Throughout his life, Duane enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing at the cabin with all the hunting crew. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of visiting Alaska by making a road trip north. Duane’s greatest accomplishment in his life is his three children. Later on, he took pride in his role as grandpa even more. He loved to teach his grandchildren some of his favorite bad habits.

Duane is survived by his three children, Gregory (Rebecca) Adams of Wichita, KS, Sharon (Bryan) Rutz of Aitkin, MN, Tracy (Elisa) Adams-Rae of Fruitland Park, FL; six grandchildren, Smiley, Sport, Digger, Firebug, Heidi and Munchkin; two great grandchildren, Odd 6 and Ashy; five siblings, Lloyd (Lori) Adams of Minong, WI, Connie Sieler of Rice Lake, WI, Joyce (Mike) Kuffel of Waite Park, MN, Linda (Butch) Fussy of Oak Park, MN, Sherri Adams of Carlton, MN; mother of his children and caregiver, Penny Kelley; uncle, Marlin (Shirley) Adams; aunt, Carol Elliot; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held for Duane at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Solon Springs Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Kidder officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Military honors will be accorded by the State of Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program. Interment will be in the Wascott Cemetery in the spring.
