In Memory of Dorothy Olund


November 25, 1943 - July 29, 2019

Dorothy “Dotty” Ames Turner Olund Age 75, of Sarona, WI died Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 25, 1943 in St. Paul, MN to Samuel and Mildred (Olson) Turner. Dorothy graduated from the Summit School in St. Paul, MN and then graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She was married to Lloyd Olund on July 10, 1965 in St. Paul, MN. Dorothy was an Elementary teacher in New Jersey and then became the Religious Education Director for the First Unitarian Church in Des Moines, Iowa for many years. She took great care of her children when they were growing up. She loved to play tennis, gardening, playing bridge, going on long walks, chatting with her discussion group at church, and spending hours talking on the phone or in person. Most afternoons, she enjoyed watching her favorite soap opera - General Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Olund of Sarona, WI; 3 daughters, Liz (Mike) Lichtenberger of Carlsbad, CA, Lesley Olund of Des Moines, Iowa, and Laura Olund (Scott Stegh) of Menomonee Falls, WI; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Lauren Lichtenberger; 3 sisters, Cathy Boykin of Arlington Heights, IL, Susie Lynch of Laguna Hills, CA and Betsy Turner of St. Paul, MN; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mildred Turner. Funeral Services will be held at Noon Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Long Lake Lutheran Church in Long Lake, WI, Rev. Mary Strom officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
