Dorothy Lucille Willson, age 93, of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Rice Lake.

Dorothy was born on July 22, 1931 in Canton, MN to Lyle and Helen (Richardson) Farnsworth. After graduating from high school as valedictorian she was married to Gordon Willson on August 23, 1950 at St. Agnes Church near Canton, MN. They lived in Decorah, Iowa until 1955 when they moved to Appleton, WI. They were active in the church there and she kept books for Gordon's construction business. They moved to Rice Lake in 1970 where they started Shadow Plastics. She was active in New Comers Club, St. Joseph's Altar Society, and volunteered in the church rectory, and Lakeview Medical Center Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and singing. She loved being with her family most of all.

She is survived by her 6 children, Pete (Mary Pat) Willson, Janet (Byron) Binstock, Mary (Michael) Romportl, Wendy Willson, Trisha (Michael) Willger and Amy (Scott) Samp; 12 grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; numerous great and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon “Gordy” Willson; her parents, Lyle and Helen Farnsworth; a sister, Lola McCabe; and a brother, Cecil Farnsworth.

Private Family Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI, Father Isaiah Schick officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
