In Memory of Dorothy K. Williams
Dorothy K. (Wiesner) Williams, also known as GMA, age 83 of Rice Lake, WI passed away peacefully at home, on April 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born on November 12, 1941 in Rice Lake, WI to Harry & Clara (Pavek) Wiesner. She graduated in 1960 from Rice Lake High School, where she met her future husband, Robert Williams. Dorothy helped her dad with farming.
Dorothy & Robert were married at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, WI on July 15, 1961. They lived on a farm for 18 years in Rice Lake. Then moved to town. Dorothy was a stay at home mom until 1972, then she went to work for Nichols Homeshield in Rice Lake for 10 years, then retired. She then began her upholstery business in her home for 15 years. Dorothy & Robert managed Waldo Carlson Campground by Mikana for 18 summers. They loved camping with the family at other campgrounds. When they weren't camping in the winter, they would spend their time in Alabama with the snowbirds. They did this for 10 years.
Dorothy loved to do her crafts, also loved playing cards, dancing, and Bingo at the Moose Lodge. Dorothy was also a member of the Rice Lake Women of the Moose. She loved looking into her family heritage. She was also involved in Stock Car Racing, as Bob had a race car and would travel to different area race tracks. She also kept track of Points, and cleaned the Rice Lake Speedway for many years. She loved their dogs, Sirgalahad (Shorty), Mitzie, and Benji.
She is survived by husband, Robert; son, Robert Jr. "Pete" (Brenda) Williams of Rice Lake, WI; daughters, Laurie (Terry) Lewis of Fulda, MN, and Wendy Carlson (partner Benjamin) of Mount Pleasant, MI; grandkids, Joshua (Khristeen) Carlson, Mallory (Travis) DeGolier, Matthew Carlson (partner Breanna), Lexi (Williams) Olinske, Becky (Jeff) Eiden, Cady (Cameron) Lucht and Lance Williams; great-grandchildren, Conner, Carter Carlson, Logan, Jordan DeGolier, McKenna, Brady Eiden, Marley, Elliana Olinske, Lawrence Lucht and Kobry Carlson.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Clara (Pavek) Wiesner; infant son, Donald; brothers, Donald and Gerald Wiesner; and sister, Margie Daniels.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Campia on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1 PM - 4 PM.
