In Memory of Dorothy Jensen
Dorothy L. Jensen Age 94, of Rice Lake, WI, died Sunday, October 31, 2021.
She was born in Port Wing, WI on November 14, 1926 to John and Helma Anderson.
She married Norman L. Jensen on February 26, 1946 at St. Charles, Illinois. She attended Port Wing School and Vocational School in Superior. Dorothy worked as a surgical technician at Ladd Memorial Hospital in Osceola, WI for 33 ½ years. She enjoyed traveling and doing volunteer work after she retired in 1984. Norman and Dorothy spent winter months in Mercedes, Texas until he passed away in 1992. Dorothy continued to live in Webster, WI and Mercedes, Texas. She continued to do volunteer work sewing for the Shriners Criple Childrens Project and knit a crochet afghan’s for the battered women’s organization. She was a member of the Llano Grande Art League for many years. She enjoyed oil painting and painted many pictures.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sharon Jensen; 3 grandchildren, Cindy (Jason) Jasicki, Mike (Kristie) Jensen and Chris Jensen; 5 great grandchildren, Kenzie and Riley Strohm, Gracie Jensen, Lisa and Preston Olson; 2 step granddaughters, Mallory and Marisa Jasicki; sister, Elsie Wick; many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is in charge of the arrangements.
