Dorothy Ida Hubeler-Kohel Age 99, of Rice Lake, WI died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Heritage Lakeside in Rice Lake.

She was born on July 17, 1919 in Cedar Lake Township, WI to Benjamin and Lydia (Thielke) Winkel. Dorothy graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1937 and was married to Edward Hubeler on August 2, 1941 and later she married Edward Kohel on October 10, 1998. Dorothy was a homemaker, enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cooking, making potato salad and being active in all of her church activities.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Johnson of Redlands, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Hubeler of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Thomas (Lynn) Johnson, Todd Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Joshua (Christine) Hubeler, Larissa Hubeler and Angelica Castronova; 2 great grandchildren, James and Levi; 3 stepchildren and their families, John “Jack” (Maxine) Kohel of Rice Lake, E.V. “Pudge” (Janet) Kohel of Rice Lake & Sandra (Gene) Davenport of Marinette, WI; many nieces and nephews; a Goddaughter, Karen Lopes. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Hubeler and Edward Kohel; a son-in-law, Thomas Johnson; a sister, Alice (Ernie) Kaufmann; and a brother, Lloyd (Myrtle) Winkel.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Fred Buth officiating, with interment in the Cedar Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.
