In Memory of Donald Roux


January 18, 1930 - September 3, 2019

Donald Raymond Roux Age 89, of Rice Lake, WI died Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake, WI surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Louis and Rose (Lear) Roux. Don graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1948 and was married to Kathleen Schieffer on January 26, 1952 in Dobie, WI. He served in the United States Army National Guards and was Honorably Discharged as Master Sergeant. Don did correspondence course as Radio and TV Repair and then owned and operated Don’s Radio and TV Service in Rice Lake for over 40 years. Don loved deer hunting with his brothers, sons and grandchildren; he enjoyed his polka music; and camping on the East Side Campground on Long Lake for many summers.

He is survived by 8 children, Gregory (Robyn) Roux of Rice Lake, David Roux of Rice Lake, Julie (Thom) Rutherford of Rice Lake, Susan (Jeffrey) Schafbuch of Marengo, Iowa, Connie (Ben) Grapa of Phillips, WI, Mary (Bruce) VandeBerg of Rice Lake, Laurie Haus of Rice Lake and Kathy (Andy) Sirek of Rice Lake; 20 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; 3 brothers, Allan Roux of Eagan, MN, Wayne (Sandy) Roux of Rice Lake and Kenny Roux of Mora, MN; a sister, Janet Flodquist of Phoenix, AZ; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Roux; parents, Louis and Rose Roux and a brother, Gary Roux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Dobie, WI, where Military Rites will be accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30AM Saturday at the Church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic School where all of his 8 children attended school.
