Donald Maichle, age 90, a resident of Hayward, died on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Waters Edge Assisted Living in Hayward.

Donald was born on June 25, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Richard and Mary Ann (Schmidt) Maichle. Donald was united in marriage to Eugenia Banaszak in Milwaukee on December 29, 1956. Donald was drafted into the US Army and served from January 1957 until being honorably discharged as an SP4 in January of 1959 and was transferred to the US Army Reserve. Returning to Milwaukee, Donald was a long-time employee of the City of Milwaukee. In October of 1999, the couple moved to Hayward where Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoor activities that the Hayward area had to offer.

Donald is survived by his wife Eugenia of 69 years, sons; Brian (Tina), David (Barbara), Richard (Jenn); three grandchildren, Donald (Heather), Richard Jr., and Amanda; three great-grandchildren; Melody, Harmony, Donald Jr.; brother, Michael (Pat); and sister, Marilyn (Bob).

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Rosie and Carolyn, and brother John Roddick.

A Prayer service for Donald Maichle will be on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1pm, at the Hayward Funeral Home with a gathering of friends and family to follow at the Funeral Home until 3pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in Milwaukee at a later date for his family and friends in the Milwaukee area. Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
