On Sunday June 5th, 2022, Dr. Donald Riemer passed away at the age of 82.

Don was born on May 5th 1940 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

He was married to Kathy Deye-Riemer and later divorced. Together they had two sons James and Kaleb Riemer.

He received his M.D. in 1967 and was a Family Practice Doctor in Cumberland for over 30 years.

Dr. Riemer will be most remembered for how he wanted to make people smile. He loved anything involving nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing and long walks in the woods on his dream property just outside of Cumberland. He was an avid reader and educator of anything whether you wanted to listen or not.

He has donated to over 50 different types of animal and nature foundations over the years. He cares so much that in lieu of flowers we will set up a donation to Nature Foundation to help preserve the environment.

Donald is survived by his sons, James Riemer, and Kaleb Riemer; brother, Jim Riemer and sister-in-law Pam Riemer; brother Monte Hood; nephews: Mike and Donald Riemer; nieces: Wendy O’Brien and Michelle Kaczorowski; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Riemer; mother, Alfie Riemer, and brother, Mick Riemer.
