March 21, 1927 - January 26, 2019

Donald Marx Caton Age 91, of Long Lake, WI died Saturday, January 26, 2019.

He was born on March 21, 1927 in Eau Claire, WI to James and Cecelia Caton. Don graduated from High School in Eau Claire and then graduated from UW Madison with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Accounting and a minor in English. Don worked as an accountant for NSP in Minneapolis for many years. They had a summer home on Long Lake and enjoyed many summers with their families making special memories on Sunset Bay. Don loved playing the harmonica and accordion, fishing, dancing with his wife and going to parties.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Caton of Rice Lake; 3 sons, Richard (Jackie) Caton of Dayton, MN, Jeffrey Caton of Adelaide, Australia and Thomas Caton of New Hope, MN; a daughter, Carole (Mike) Nylund of Two Harbors, MN; 3 grandchildren, Michelle, Kristina and Jeremy; 5 great grandchildren, Brianna, Amanda, Addison, Caleb and Samuel; 2 great great grandchildren, Hunter and Katelynn; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Debonville of Florida; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, James and Robert Caton; and a sister, Janet Stratton. Private family services will be held.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is in charge of the arrangements.
