Don Philip Sorenson Age 83, of Rice Lake, WI died Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home.

He was born on March 10, 1935 in Rice Lake to Paul and Palma (Pederson) Sorenson. Don graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1953. He entered the United States Army in 1956 and then was Honorably Discharged in 1958 and served in Germany. Don was married to Rosalie Foss on June 18, 1960 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Whitehall, WI. He was a lending manager as Thorp Finance and Wisconsin Finance and also worked for the Rice Lake Greenhouse. Don enjoyed working on old cars, golfing, fishing, camping, football, his dogs and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Bill Greathouse of Ankeny, Iowa & Karen and Bobby Peterson of Bonney Lake, WA; 5 grandchildren, Gilbert Nevils III, Jacob (Hannah) Loney, Matthew (Lauren) Loney, Krisha (Max) Schauf and Miranda Greathouse; a brother, Neil (Marie) Sorenson of Rice Lake; a sister, Ilene Haseltine of Andover, MN; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie; his parents, Paul and Palma Sorenson; and a sister, Dorothy Sorenson.

Funeral Services will be held at 5PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake where Military Rites will be accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals.
