In Memory of Dolores Huntowski


November 3, 1930 - September 9, 2019

Dolores Huntowski, age 88, a resident of Minong, died on Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner.

Dolores was born on November 3, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Edward and Clara (Benhke) Kolasinski.  On June 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to Peter Huntowski at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Chicago.  While their children were growing up, she was a stay at home Mom, but later she would work for Brach’s Candy Company, and St. Claire Paper Company.  The family lived in Chicago until 1960 when they moved to Addison, Illinois, and then in 1968, they moved to Minong.  After moving to Minong, Dolores worked at the Shell Lake Hospital for a time and then at the Senior Center in Minong for many years.  She enjoyed playing cards and Dancing with her brother in law while her husband played in the band, going to the Casino, and will be remembered for the multitude of Christmas cookies she would bake each year. 

Dolores is survived by her children: Judy Colegrove of Spooner, Eileen (Lee) Coons of Minong, Tom Huntowski of Minong, Brian Huntowski of Waupun, WI, grandchildren: Jeffery (Shelley) Lawrence of Luck, WI, Danny Lawrence of Shell Lake, WI, Stefanie (Jake) Naessen of  Shell Lake, Joseph Huntowski of Jackson, WI, Olivia Huntowski of Milwaukee, 8 great grandchildren, brother Hillard Kolasinski of  Chicago, and many nieces and nephews.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Peter, and her parents.

A private graveside service was held at the Calvary Cemetery in Spooner.
