In Memory of Dolores A. Teuber
Dolores A. Teuber, age 89, of Hayward, WI passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.
Dolores Ann was born August 18, 1929 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Charles and Alice (Blum) Manteufel. She was raised in the Chicago area and spent some years in Baraboo, Wisconsin where her parents operated a resort. After graduating from high school she met Warren Teuber at a roller skating rink in Chicago and three weeks later they were married. Warren was in the Marine Corps so they traveled around a bit before Dolores and Warren moved to Vista, CA where Warren was stationed at Camp Pendleton. While in California Dolores was primarily a homemaker but also worked a variety of jobs. She sold everything from advertising for a local radio station to real estate. At various times she raised tropical fish, parakeets, poodles, and Siamese cats. Dolores and Warren also lived in Bensenville, IL for several years before moving to one of their favorite vacation spots, Hayward, WI, in 1989. Dolores was an avid fisherwoman and gardener. She loved to read and enjoyed sharing her favorites with others. She learned to crochet and knit as a child and continued to use those skills throughout her life and was happy to teach others. She loved her family dearly and was always there to listen and to help.
Dolores is survived by her children, Alicia Gunderson of Hayward, William (Holly) Teuber of Menomonie, WI, Michael (Cara) Teuber of Algonquin, IL, Pauline Riley of Fountain Hills, AZ, Pamela (Gregg) Dudash of Fountain Hills, AZ, Charles (Amy) Teuber of Centennial, CO; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Manteufel; husband of 70 years, Warren; and a sister, Emily Long.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5th, at the Hayward Funeral Home with Fr. Gerard Willger officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Saturday. Interment will be at a later time at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
