In Memory of Dianne Mielke-Fortney
Dianne Mielke-Fortney, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
On February 23, 1954, Dianne was born in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Alvin and Gladys Mielke. In her later years, she resided with her parents and brothers, Mark, Steve, and Craig in Loveland, Colorado. She dedicated her professional life as a Certified Nursing Assistant, demonstrating her passion and commitment to caring for others. Dianne found solace and spiritual fulfillment through her active participation in church activities, particularly as a member of Aglow alongside her mother. She had a deep appreciation for nature, nurturing her green thumb through gardening and hiking in mountainous terrains. She took great pleasure in baking her delectable apple/pumpkin pies. Additionally, Dianne cherished the time spent with her father, delivering meals to those in need through the Meals on Wheels program.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey C. Fortney of Mankato, Minnesota (married on 04/07/1971, died on October 10, 1994). Dianne is survived by her children: Stacey Teschendorf of Madison, Wisconsin; Chad Fortney of Clinton, Iowa; and Evelyn Kahl of Rice Lake, Wisconsin (Jeffrey). Her legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Loveland, Colorado, to honor Dianne's memory and the profound impact she had on the lives of those who knew her. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
