Barney died unexpectedly on July 18, 2024, at age 69. He was born on March 24, 1955 to William and Elaine Tjader in Siren, WI.

Dennis graduated from Siren High School in 1973. He then graduated from auto body school in Rice Lake, but decided it wasn't for him. He went to work for Tjader and Highstrom in underground utilities construction. He continued working in this capacity for various companies for the rest of his career. He was a member of Local 139 and 49ers.

He married Bonnie Hayes on October 14, 1989, and they settled in Siren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Mike and Steven (Pete). Surviving in addition to his wife, Bonnie, her sons Billy, Rich, and Chad, and grandchildren Sarah and Mackenzie, are brothers Tim (Donna) and Paul (Val), sisters-in-law, Carleen and Bonnie, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation will be held at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren on Wednesday, July 24, from 4:00-6:00 PM, and on Thursday, July 25, at 10:00 AM with the funeral service at 11:00 AM, followed by a picnic lunch at Crooked Lake Park.
