Delwin Robert Carter, age 82, passed away on February 5, 2023, in Amery, Wisconsin.

Delwin was born to Frances and Guy Carter in Fairfax, South Dakota, on November 15, 1940.

Delwin grew up on a large farm in South Dakota with his parents and siblings. He met his loving wife Penny in Minnesota, and they married on May 23, 1987. Together they moved to Kansas where they had a farm and raised horses. They then moved to Wisconsin where they have lived ever since. Delwin loved to work and care for horses and go for walks in his woods. He enjoyed listening to country music and working with his hands, such as repairing things around the house or building something. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Guy, as well as all of his siblings.

Delwin leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Penny Carter, children, Thad (Tamara) Carter, Corrin (Dan) Carter, Chandra (Dan) Henrich, Terese (Dana) Thune, Jenni (Rob) Mohr, and Christin (Rick) Olsen, grandchildren, Joel (Samantha), Leif, and Josephine Thune, Allison (Joe) O'Hara, Matthew Mohr, Carly Willard, and Emma Overbye, and great-grandchild, Emberly Willard, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 16, at the Amery Congregational Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church from Noon-1:00 PM. A luncheon and fellowship will be held at the church following the service.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
