Debra “Deb” Sue Crowell Putzke, 70, Barron, passed Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at Woodstone Senior Living with her sons by her side after a brief battle with lung cancer.

She was born July 12th, 1952 to Harold “Ike” and Rachel (Williams) Crowell in Barron. She attended and graduated from Barron High School. She worked for many years and until retirement at the Barron Kwik Trip.

Deb’s love language was sarcasm and she spread that on thick. She will long be remembered for her feisty spunk! She loved spending time with her family and was often seen at sporting and 4-H events. She took pride in having never missed watching her grandkids show at the fair. She loved catching a movie on Tuesdays with Amanda; monthly luncheons with Carol and the girls from high school; regular visits with her sister/friend/rock, Darleen; and weekly chats with her faithful sister-in-law, Sharon.

Deb is survived by her sons, Chris Putzke and David (Elisha) Putzke; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee, Leanna, Julianne, Nathaniel, Meah and Micah; sister, Darleen Vergin; sisters-in-law, Sharon Larson and Kathy Crowell; brother-in-law, Orville Halvorson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Howard “Ike” and Rachel Crowell; sisters, Janice Ebert, Pat Halvorson, and Chris Schendorf; brother, Howard “Buck” Crowell; in-laws: Jack Ebert, Kenneth Vergin, and Nancy Crowell.

A funeral service for Deb will be held Saturday, August 26th at 2pm at Barron Foursquare Church with Pastor Janet Espeseth officiating, with interment in Barron Wayside Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
